This is one of Poland's NSZZ "Solidarnosc" (Independent Self-Governing Trade Union "Solidarity") local branches in the town and province of Siedlce, a unit of Solidarity's Mazovia Region. The Siedlce organization was founded in late 1980 and was legally tolerated by the Communist authorities until martial law was declared on December 13, 1981.
