This collection comprises the editorial files of the scientific journal Molecular Biology and Evolution from 1983-2002. Walter Fitch, UC Irvine professor and chairman of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, was the founding editor of this journal. The collection documents the production and preparation of an international scientific journal and the professional peer review process. Included are manuscripts (both accepted and rejected), galleys, editorial reviews, correspondence, copies of issues of the journal, and subject files of the editor.
