The first meeting of what is now the La Jolla Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends was held in the Mission
Hills Methodist Church in San Diego in the late 1940s. The first official business meeting was held in 1951 at the home of
Ruth and Joshua Bailey in La Jolla.
The La Jolla Meeting was accepted at an official Monthly Meeting in August of 1953 by the Pacific Yearly Meeting of the Religious
Society of Friends. Since that time, the organization has been located at 7380 East Street in La Jolla.
