Biography/Organization History
Historical Background
The UCI Student Housing office operates under the Office of Student Affairs and includes seven housing communities. As of
2007 undergraduate communities include Arroyo Vista, Campus Village, Mesa Court, Middle Earth, and Vista del Campo. Graduate
and family communities include Palo Verde, Verano Place, and Vista del Campo. UCI guarantees two years of housing to all freshmen
who are single, under the age of 25, enrolled in the current term, and meet the housing application and contract-return deadlines.
Undergraduate communities include special interest and theme halls.
The Student Housing office also oversees one-hour walking tours of campus for prospective students. The tours are led by campus
representatives, a group of about 50 students per year who are trained to provide information about the UCI campus, academic
programs, and student life.
