Elizabeth Snyder (1914- ) was the first woman chairman of the California State Democratic Committee (1954-56). The collection

Snyder was born as Elizabeth Ingrid Louise Carlson on April 8, 1914, in Minneapolis, Minnesota; AB, UCLA, 1935; campaign worker
for Jerry Voorhis, 1936; national committeewoman, Young Democrats, 1938-42; first woman chairman, California State Democratic
Committee, 1954-56; married Nathan H. Snyder, a Los Angeles attorney.
