Biographical/Historical Sketch

Stanford President Donald Tresidder appointed a committee of 3 faculty and 3 students to advise him on the issue of a student radio station on campus in 1946. The station, first called KSU and later KZSU, made its first broadcast on January 6, 1947.

Description of the Collection

Records include letters, memoranda, minutes, and reports; subjects include budgets, facilities, and management. Prof. Hubert C. Heffner was the first chairman of the committee; most of the correspondence is between Heffner and Tresidder and Tresidder's successor, Alvin C. Eurich.
