    Biographical/Historical note

    The drama department was one of the original departments of Stanford University. Its first formally produced theatrical, "Sleeping Car", was given December 31, 1891.

    Scope and Contents note

    This collection consists of photographs taken by anonymous amateur photographers and some local professional photographers of drama department theatrical productions, as well as some student productions such as the Gaieties. The majority date from 1920 to 1960.
