Note

Includes four black and white prints on cabinet cards of Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt and company's search for thieves in the Dakota Territory. One print is of Roosevelt standing by his horse. Another is of William Seawall and Wilmot Dow standing in a boat with supplies and oars, ready to chase the thieves. Two other prints are of Roosevelt guarding the three prisoners, the "German", "Finnigan", and the "Half Breed". The story is recounted by Roosevelt in "Sherrif's Work on a Ranch", a chapter in "Ranch Life and the Hunting-trail" (1888).

Includes twelve black and white prints on cabinet cards related to a hunting trip taken by Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt in the Dakota Territory. Pictures include scenes of waterfalls and trees, the stables of Elk Horn Ranch, a dead cow elk in a wagon, a dead deer hanging by its hind legs, and multiple photographs of Old Man Tompkins and Wilmot Dow with horses and wagons.
