Scope and Content Note

The records are further divided into nine sub-series: History and Background, Correspondence, Funding, Meeting Agendas and Notes, Reports, Publications, Events, Office Facilities and Media Coverage. History and Background includes historical narratives, policy statements, and brochures. Correspondence contains information on general office administration as well as specific issues such as conflicts with the Department of Rehabilitation, and reactions to state and federal funding cuts. Publications includes newsletters, brochures, and special publications by DSP: guides to independent living, housing, and accessible restaurants. Events contains material on Disability Awareness Day, International Year of Disabled Persons, residence program reunions and other events. Office Facilities documents the offices DSP occupied, including wheelchair accessible renovation plans. Media Coverage consists of collected press clippings of DSP.
