Abstract: These scrapbooks contain a wide variety of materials reflecting the interests of the student involved. Programs of campus events are a strong point, and some students have included their grade cards and similar items related to the business of being a student. A number of the scrapbooks contain interesting snapshots of the students, their friends, and their activities. Social events are also recorded in the form of programs, invitations, dance cards and the like. A few of the scrapbooks event contain dried flowers, buttons and pins, and similar artifacts.

Scope and Content

These scrapbooks contain a wide variety of materials reflecting the interests of the student involved. Programs of campus events are a strong point, and some students have included their grade cards and similar items related to the business of being a student. A number of the scrapbooks contain interesting snapshots of the students, their friends, and their activities. Social events are also recorded in the form of programs, invitations, dance cards and the like. A few of the scrapbooks event contain dried flowers, buttons and pins, and similar artifacts.

Scope and Content Note

Contains programs of school events, including music recitals, graduation exercises, and notices from Hastings Law Dept. Also contains death notices, dance cards from Chi Phi, calling cards, receipts, and school newspaper clippings.
 

2 Schaeffer, Maud E 1904

Scope and Content Note

Contains photographs of football games and campus recreation, cyanotypes from Class Day '99, invitations, postcards, bows, a wishbone, calling cards, napkins, flowers, pins, ticket stubs and rush invites.
 

3 Dehm, William H 1905

Scope and Content Note

Contains photographs, letter of admission, report cards, library cards, overdue book notice, Phi Beta Kappa invitations, ticket stubs to railroad, orchestra and ferry.

Scope and Content Note

Contains engagement calendars, receipts, invitations, dried flowers, dance cards, place cards, and a small deflated football.

Scope and Content Note

President of Women's Athletic Association. Contains University Meeting speech and Bay Area news clippings from the speech, Triangular Sports Day speech, place cards, dance cards, receipts from Athletic Club's trip to Santa Barbara, commencement photographs, and photographs from family trip to Yosemite.

Scope and Content Note

Contains Daily Cal clippings, Cal and Stanford banners, class schedule, excuse card, football programs, campus map, dance cards, photographs of football, track, cadets, swim meets, as well as non-university snapshots. Some photographs unattached.

Scope and Content Note

Printed book filled in: "My school days, a record," with illustrations by John Rae and decorative borders by Edith and Mildred Dowles. Frederick A. Stokes Company, publishers, New York, 1910. Contains reports cards, ticket stubs, cartoons from periodicals, invitations and announcements of campus events.

Contsins notices of campus events, ticket stubs, dance cards, cartoon sketches, song lyrics, and Berkeley High School announcements. Photographs of the Library, Strawberry Creek, Greek Theatre.

Last half of album unused. Contains letters, humorous notes, news clippings, rope from rush, satirical news clippings, dried flowers, illustrations from athletic programs, snapshots of students.
 

11 Gardner, Rose 1911

Scope and Content Note

Contents include invitations, photographs, campus events, dance cards, athletic programs, pieces of fabric, personal notes addressed to her, news clippings, property warning sign, manuscript of a play. Gardner took part in student dramatics and was speaker at president's reception.

Scope and Content Note

4 volumes: contents include programs for school events, athletics, socials, etc. v.2 includes mementoes of trip to Europe, 1900-01; v.4 includes class assignments, receipt of Levi Strauss scholarship, lists of expenses and shopping lists, physics notes.

Printed volume filled in sporadically: "Men's college record," (San Francisco: P. Elder and company, ca. 1903). College yells, mass produced campus photos, clippings of athletic events; diary entries on freshman room and roommate, class politics, sports and vacations.

Scope and Content Note

Contains admittance notice from Barnard, grade cards, a play, photos of a western farce, handwritten notes, individual portraits of classmates, photos of her graduation, where she was awarded the University Medal.
 

17 Noble, Grace Marian 1912

Scope and Content Note

Contains photos of campus sites and activities, including inside the library and outdoor swimming pool, receipts, invitations, announcements of campus events, programs and clippings of sporting events, frosh rush handouts. Two loose pages of photos in front may have belonged to her sister Alice, class of 1917.

Contains theater programs, football pictures from the Occident, articles re debating, frosh-soph rush, controversy surrounding the 1899 Blue and Gold; clippings of many articles not related to the university, with family clippings at the end.
