Record Series 424 contains correspondence relating to scholarships, endowments, and other funds of the UCLA Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning Development Office from 1966 to 1988.

This is an inactive record series; no additional University records are expected to be added.

Biographical / historical:

The Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning was established in 1966, offering a graduate degree in Urban Design. The two-year program admitted 15 students in its first year; and students graduated with a Master of Architecture (Urban Design). In 1968, the University approved the school's graduate degree program in Architecture.

The Department of Architecture and Urban Design (AUD) offered four different graduate level degrees and two professional degrees (Master of Architecture I and II), as well as the MA and PhD in architecture. In 2007, it began offering a bachelor of arts (BA) in architectural studies.
