Jerry Bresler was a songwriter and a producer. The collection consists of motion picture scripts and a small amount of sheet
music that appears to be related to his career.
Background
Jerome Bresler was born April 13, 1908 in Denver, Colorado. He started his career as a production supervisor, working for
small companies, but would eventually start his own independent company. He joined MGM as a unit manager in the late 1930s
working on the Dr. Kildare series and other films. After winning Academy Awards for the short subject films Heavenly Music and Stairway to Light, he went on to produce feature films. Among his film credits are After Dark, Bewitched, Casino Royale, Major Dundee, and The Vikings. He died August 23, 1977 in Los Angeles, California.
