There are also photographs of Domenico Grosso, the "hermit" of Stanford University, and of Thomas Edison during his visit to the campus. Non-Stanford subjects include his vacation trips to Seattle, Idaho, Monterey, and other locations, and the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco.

McSherry earned his a.b. in English from Stanford University in 1916.
