David Locke Webster, professor of physics (1920-1954; emeritus, 1954-1977) and chairman of the Physics Department at Stanford (1920-1942), was born in Boston November 6, 1888. He received his B.A. (1910) and Ph.D. (1913) from Harvard University.
Subjects covered in this autobiography include sailing experiences, airplane testing during World War I, life at Stanford from the 1920s to the 1950s, experiences working on rockets during World War II, and his experiences as a pilot. There is very little on his years at Harvard. A bibliography of Webster's work is included.
