He also served as president of the Urban Mortgage Company (Los Angeles). The collection consists of photographs, photograph albums, a handbook, and memorabilia and correspondence of Clarence Urban.

Biography

Urban was born on May 1, 1878 in Jacksonville, Texas; owned five weekly newspapers in Texas before coming to Los Angeles and working as a realtor until he was appointed Real Estate Commissioner of California on June 28, 1939; also served as president of the Urban Mortgage Company (Los Angeles); wrote Successful real estate practice (1950).

Collection consists of photographs, photograph albums, a handbook, and memorabilia and correspondence of Clarence Urban, a Los Angeles realtor originally from Texas, as Real Estate Commissioner of California, 1939, and his acquittal in court proceedings in 1940.
