Abstract: This collection consists of professional, teaching, and personal papers of J. Hillis Miller, a literary critic and Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Irvine. Included are his scholarly works, manuscripts, conference attendance and memberships in scholarly associations, correspondence, photographs, awards, and both audio and video recordings of public appearances. Teaching papers consist of dissertations, lecture notes, syllabi, student grades, and student correspondence. A small amount of personal correspondence and a few family items are also included.
