Biographical/Historical Note
Soviet governmental organization for supervision of motion picture film production.
Scope and Content of Collection
The collection consists of films that were made during the World War II era and the 1970s. The films were originally intended
for use by military attaches and political or scientific officers at Soviet embassies and consulates. Used to demonstrate
Soviet might and power, the films cover topics such as recruitment for, and life at, the Higher Frunze Naval Academy in Leningrad,
navy recruiting, massive Soviet Army maneuvers, the Yuri Gargarin space tracking range ship, and the Soviet Army. Contains
31 film reel cans containing 51 reels of 16mm film of various lengths. Film titles taken directly from the canister or reel.
