Background
Russell Chandler was a religion writer for the Los Angeles Times newspaper from 1974 to 1992. He earned a Masters of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary and wrote several
books on religious topics, including Understanding the New Age (1989), Racing toward 2001: The Forces Shaping America's Religious Future (1992), Doomsday: The End of the World - A View through Time (1993), and Feeding the Flock: Restaurants and Churches You'd Stand in Line For (1998).
