Scope and Content Note

The film materials document the lives of Latvian refugees from 1946 to 1950. Life at the refugee camp in Augsburg, Germany was filmed by the order of the International Refugee Organization (IRO). The collection also includes the Kraucs family's travel films of the United States of America after they relocated to the U.S., including footage of the mountains in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. Scope and Content Note

Seventy five rolls of still image negatives, containing approximately 2500 photographs document the lives of Latvian refugees from 1946 to 1950, life at the refugee camp in Augsburg, Germany filmed by the order of the International Refugee Organization (IRO), and the Kraucs family's travel film of the western U.S. after they relocated, including footage of the mountains in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.
