Collection contains phonograph records, and occasionally album notes and photographs, featuring music, news, interviews, speeches, poetry, and stories. Subjects include the Fred Allen Show, Uraguayan life, Australian ballads, Hamlet, Oliver!, Charles Laughton reading from the Bible, Bertolt Brecht singing two songs from Die Dreigroschenoper, Burns and Allen radio show, speech by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, the African-American community in Los Angeles, La Comédie Française, Allen Ginsberg reading his poetry, T.S. Eliot's Murder in the cathedral, and a speech by Senator Joseph McCarthy.
