Abstract: Paul E. Stewart (1879-1963) was born in Tennessee. He served as Santa Barbara Superintendent of Schools (1919-34) and was
a member of the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors (1943-59). The collection consists of correspondence, clippings,
memorabilia, and photographs concerning his career in education and Santa Barbara County politics.

Paul E. Stewart was born on August 23, 1879 in Tennessee; attended Peabody College and the University of Nashville; served
as Santa Barbara Superintendent of Schools, 1919-34; member, Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, 1943-59; he died on
February 14, 1963 in Santa Barbara.
Collection consists of correspondence, clippings, memorabilia, and photographs of Paul E. Stewart concerning his career in
education and Santa Barbara County politics.
