Scope and Content

The collection consists mainly of programs, brochures, posters and invitations to performing and fine arts events, exhibits, and student group events held or organized at various Pepperdine campuses from 1937 to 2013. Also included in the collection are photographs, audiocassettes, CDs, vinyl records, and VHS recordings of specific events and student groups. Some student group events and activities represented include Dance in Flight, Pepperdine's radio station, Songfest, the Singing Travelers, and Won by One.

Series 1: Fine Arts Division 1937-2010

Scope and Content

The series contains materials related to the Music and Theater Departments at Pepperdine, now a part of the Fine Arts Division of Seaver College. Materials in the series include brochures, posters, and other general information about the departments; programs, invitations, photographs, cassette tapes and CDs of choral, a capella and various music ensembles; programs for Opera Workshop performances; and programs, posters, photographs, and invitations for theater productions put on by Pepperdine students. Also included is a VHS recording of a 1991 Gala Performance, a 1994 Christmas concert, a 2000 performance of West Side Story, and a 2001 performance of 42nd Street, as well as vinyl records of a 1957 performance of Oklahoma! and a 1955 performance of The Merry Widow. Also included is a box of betamax tapes of Pepperdine Symphony concerts from 1990 to 1999. Materials in the series range from 1937 to 2010.

Scope and Content

The series contains materials from events produced by performers who are not Pepperdine students, but hosted by Pepperdine at the Seaver College Art Gallery, the Frederick R. Weisman Museum of Art, the Smothers Theater and other venues on campus. Materials include invitations, brochures, schedules, programs, and photographs of art exhibits and theater, music, and dance performances held at Pepperdine ranging from 1944 to 2013.

Scope and Content

The series contains items related to performing arts events and groups organized and run by Pepperdine students outside of the Fine Arts Division. Materials in the series include brochures and videos for the dance event Dance in Flight; photographs from Pepperdine's radio station; brochures, posters, programs, photographs and video recordings of Pepperdine's annual Songfest event; and brochures, photographs, and audio recordings from student musical groups on campus, including the Singing Travelers and Won by One. Items in the series range from the 1950s to 2011.
