Thomas Gates was born in Canada on 1833, 8 Jan., to Hiram Gates and Sarah Maria Sayles. He later married Maria Emilie Prudhomme.
He passed away on 1896, 13 March, in Yuma Territorial, Yuma, Yuma, Arizona Territory.
