Description
Jack and Anna Kerr are longtime pillars of the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. Jack first attended as a boy when his
family moved to Hancock Park in the 1930’s. Stuart MacLennan was pastor then and highly recommended to the Kerr family by
the pastor of their home church, Long Beach Methodist. When the new pastor, Louis Evans came to First Press, the family moved
into the Kerrs’ neighborhood and young Jack was a big favorite with Mother Evans, pastor Evan’s mother. Her heart was with
the poor and she often preached on street corners. Jack was later to follow in her footsteps with a ministry on skid row.
