Description
Records from Vision Santa Cruz, formed and incorporated by City Council of the City of Santa Cruz after October 17, 1990 earthquake to plan for and rebuild downtown area. Includes Executive Board agendas, findings, etc.
Background
The Santa Cruz community created "Vision Santa Cruz", a group of 36 bankers, merchants, city officials and community activists who were forced to sit at the same table and work up a [recovery] plan "that truly reflected everyone's values," said Mardi Wormhoudt, mayor when the October 17, 1989 earthquake hit.
