Description
Record Series 12 contains transcripts of radio broadcasts from the University of California Radio Service. The bulk of the series consists of transcripts from "University Explorer" and "Science Editor."
Background
The University of California Radio Service was a system-wide series of radio programs initially broadcast in San Francisco and Los Angeles. The service, initially sponsored by the California Alumni Association, began broadcasting on December 3, 1931. The broadcasts were intended as a public service and touched on such wide ranging topics as science, health, social issues, art, literature, and politics.
