This collection consists of thirteen bound volumes of Church Missionary Society correspondence by Clerical Secretary Henry
Venn, from 1835 to 1873, including Indexes; and photocopies of the Collected Writings of Henry Venn in nine bound volumes.
Background
Henry Venn (February 10, 1796 - January 13, 1873) was honorary secretary of the Church Missionary Society from 1841 to 1873.
He was an early exponent of the principles of indigenous Christian mission leadership.
