    Abstract: This collection contains correspondence, transcripts, notes, photographs, and other material compiled by reporter Gerd Heidemann in his quest to discover the identity of B. Traven (also known as Ret Marut), editor of the German revolutionary journal Ziegelbrenner. A complete run of Ziegelbrenner is included. Correspondence between B. Traven and his publisher, originating in Mexico, is also included.
