Title:
Street scene of Old Chinatown, Los Angeles (Calif.)
Yielding to Progress--Entire block along N Los Angeles St., last vestige of Old Chinatown, will be razed soon to make way
for freeway and park area. Historic Lugo House, white-gabled building at the extreme left, may be saved, however. Site is
where the city's original water ditch flowed in the pueblo's early days. The buildings in the small sector are considered
beyond renovation--past repair or rebuilding
