Castaneda Family Thanksgiving in 1959 in Oxnard, CA
The Castaneda family Thanksgiving took place in their backyard at 660 Tamarac Street in Oxnard in 1959. The family drove
to Santa Paula to buy a pig for slaughter and prepared lechon (roasted pig) for the holiday. Once they returned home, the
kids took shifts to cook the meal over several hours.
