Selected images from resources at the nine established campuses of the
University of California, the California Cultures project will build a
digital collection documenting ethnic communities in California and the
West.
California Heritage
Collection
The California Heritage Collection is an online archive of over 28,000
images illustrating California's history and culture from the collections
of The Bancroft Library at the University of California, Berkeley.
The
Cased Photographs Project
The Cased Photographs Project makes available digital images and detailed
descriptions of daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, and related photographs
in the collections of The Bancroft Library and the California State Library.
Free Speech Movement
The Free Speech Movement documents the role of Mario Savio and other participants
in the Free Speech Movement (FSM) - a legacy that can still be traced
in political activism and educational reform throughout the country.
Japanese American Relocation Digital
Archives (JARDA)
JARDA documents the experience of Japanese Americans in World War II internment
camps. Primary sources materials include photographs, documents, manuscripts,
paintings, drawings, letters, and oral histories. Over 10,000 digital
images have been created complimented by 20,000 pages of electronic transcriptions
of document and oral histories.
Museums and the Online
Archive of California (MOAC)
MOAC provides access to collections held by archives, museums, and libraries
throughout the state of California.
Local History
Digital Resources Project (formerly known as the "OAC-LSTA Sustainability
Project")
Working with public libraries, archives, museums, and other institutions
throughout California, this project seeks to identify the resources needed
to make available and preserve through the OAC digital content created
through LSTA funded projects.
Silicon Valley History
Online
Silicon Valley History Online is a collaboration of seven institutions
providing the first gateway to the major historical resources of this
important California region. Images dating from 1800 to 2000 illustrating
life in California's Santa Clara Valley were selected from the collections
of the California History Center, History San Jose, Intel Corporation
Museum, San Jose Public Library California Room, San Jose State University
Special Collections, Santa Clara City Library Heritage Pavilion, and
the Santa Clara University Archives.
